Halloween – This is a Halloween theme based off of the standard default theme.

Emerald – A user-submitted theme.  An explosion of green.

Mods

Who is chatting – A user-submitted mod, that will show a list of member that are currently in the chat room.

Latest Info Overview Email Updates – This mod can send out weekly emails to the member of your site, with the latest updates for that week.

No Registration – A user-submitted mod, that will allow Administrators to remove registration.

Both the Chinese and Dutch languages only need 1 more word/phrase translated and then they are 100% complete and also quite a few are very close as well.

I added a new feature to the translation page where you can view only the untranslated words/phrases, so hopefully it’s not so overwhelming to finish up these languages.

And also, a special thanks to all those who have contributed to the translations already.

You can also upload your own files, so if anyone has created a theme or mod and would like to share, now you can.

Currently there are only two themes, but over the next week or so, I hope to create a few more.  All themes will be compatible with the 2.0+ releases, including 2.0.1 and 2.0.2.

Don’t Forget about Translations

Also, don’t forget about the translation page.  Quite a few of the translations are close to being finished (like 96%).  When the translations have been fully translated, I’ll add them to the download section for everyone to use.

I’ve fixed the translation page, so all the new 2.0 stuff now shows up properly.  I’ve also added a button that will show only the untranslated stuff, so it should be easier to finish translations.

Family Connections Translation Tool

Currently only a French translation has been started and is only about 8% complete.  Feel free to add your language to the tool, and translate as much as you can.  When adding a new language, don’t forget to add the Language Code.  Make sure your language code is part of the following list.

One of the problems with each new version of FCMS is that the language files need updated.  And since I only speak one language, I obviously need help with converting into other languages.

They way, I’m doing it now, is to have people submit language files to me through email, then I add them to the sourceforge.net download page.  This is a slow process and I’ve been thinking about a better way to do it for awhile now, and today I’ve finally found a better solution.

I’m going to start creating an online translation tool, so anyone can colaborate on a language file.  I got this idea from SQL Buddy.

Check out SQL Buddy’s translation tool, for a better understanding of what I’m talking about.

Also, a contributions page has been set up to give credit to all those who have contributed to Family Connections, either through submitting code or through translating into another language.
