Redesign, New Plans and 1.9 News

As you can tell, the website has been re-designed.  I was never sold on the old design, plus I needed a better layout to incorporate the new logo.  Hope everyone likes it.  I think the site is much easier to navigate now.  The blog, documents and forum may take a few days to be updated 100% so please be patient.

Updated Pricing Plans

I also updated the pricing plans.  The Large plan remains the same, but the Medium plan now comes with more storage space for only $1 per month more.  The Small plan has been renamed the Tiny plan, which is an Ad-supported Free plan.  And lastly, a new Small plan has been created for $2 per month that includes 50MB storage space and 500MB of bandwidth.

I made the changes to the plans after doing a little research of other family websites out their.  I think our new plans better match up with those sites.

Family Connections 1.9

The next version of FCMS will be 1.9.  I have been working on it for a while now (when I wasn’t re-designing the website).  This release will fix a few minor bugs, but the only enhancement will be the addition of a new theme system, and a few new themes.

In FCMS 1.9 a theme will consist of more than just a .css file and some images.  New themes will now consist of a few template files as well as a .css file and images.  This will allow for greater customization of the site and will allow users to create better and more unique themes.
